The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism on Tuesday tendered an unreserved apology to Nigerians and has accepted the fact that the vice president is right.

The centre said Prof Yemi Osinbajo could not be part of the award ceremony because of the reasons were cited in a press statement on Monday.

In a statement titled, “We were wrong and the Vice President is right” and signed by Motunrayo Alaka, Executive Director, the centre reiterated its decision to award Prof Yemi Osinbajo with an integrity award.

The centre accepts the statement from the office of the vice president as the true reflection on its intended award to the Vice President.

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism, therefore, stands by its intention to award Prof Osinbajo the Integrity Specialty of its Anti-Corruption Defender award.
