Olubunmi Diya, A broken-hearted Nigerian-British woman whose husband and two children drowned at the Costa Del Sol hotel in Spain has finally opened up saying they all knew how to swim.

She affirms she believes something was wrong with the pool. Gabriel, Olubunmi’s husband and children Praise-Emmanuel and comfort all died in the Spanish pool on Christmas Eve after Comfort got into difficulty in the water.

Comfort, 9, was the one dragged who now dragged the two others into the pool after she began struggling in the water. A report had it that she slipped and was unable to regain herself, then she started drifting towards the deep end of the six-and-a-half feet pool at Club La Costa World near Fuengirola at about 2 pm.

16-year-old Praise jumped into the water followed by their father Gabriel after hearing the screams of Favour who had been playing with Comfort some moment earlier.

The initial report was that the trio did not know how to swim properly, but the mother told Sky News on Friday 27 December that she believes something must have gone wrong with the pool saying that her husband and children all knew how to swim.

Mrs. Diya’s stand is contradicting the earlier reports quoting Favour who claimed that the family did not know how to swim. However, Autopsy reports show that the three family members died by drowning.

Late Pastor Diya was the Pastor in charge of the Open Heavens, a London branch of the RCCG. He ran his property business. Mrs. Diya on the other hand is an assistant pastor and a system analyst who owns her software firm.
