Suspects Who Attacked Family Of Maersk Boss, Hid Weapons In The Vicinity Weeks Before The Attack

The suspects linked to the attack at the Ikoyi home of the Managing Director of Maersk Line Shipping Company on Sunday 9 December 2019, Akande Adeyinka and Goke Olamilekan had confessed to having smuggled their weapons into an empty flat in the estate before the incident.

The suspects confessed to have plotted the attack for three weeks. They left Mr. Tohouo, the Maersk boss critically injured and killed his wife after robbing her of valuables like cash, and ATM cards.

They disclosed that they were not aware that Mr. Tohouo was around at the time of the attack as their target was the wife, Mrs. Tohouo.

It was reported by The Nation newspaper that the Lagos State Police commissioner (CP) Odumosu Akeem had insisted on a thorough search of the neighborhood which led to the arrest of the suspects. A member of the gang was found on a mango tree when a high definition torchlight was flashed in the environment.

A source in the police force narrated;

“The commissioner of police was a patrol when he received the distress call and he moved to the area in less than an hour. So, everywhere was dark, he brought out a big torchlight from his car

“On our way, he called both the DPO in charge of the area and the area commander to join him.

“Those suspects would have escaped if the CP had not taken those steps he took.

“He made sure that everywhere in the estate was searched. He insisted on getting a lead that would help the arrest of the suspects and investigation.

“However, everyone had to obey. It was during the search that the CP flashed his high definition torchlight and then discovered one of the suspects on top of a mango tree, he was then arrested.

The suspects are yet to be paraded before the media as (IG), Mohammed Adamu is expected to interrogate them.

Man Jumps Into Lagoon From Third Mainland Bridge Lagos

A man, 22, jumped into the lagoon from the third mainland bridge yesterday. The man identified as Daibo Toju Davies resides at 17, Sosanya street, Gbagada.

A report said that he had engaged the services of an Uber taxi from a hospital before the occurrence. He allegedly stopped the Uber on the bridge pretending to be having a running stomach before plunging into the lagoon.

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency public affairs officer, Nosa Okunbor said they are making efforts to rescue the man.

He said;

“He should be in his mid-twenties. He ordered a car-hailing service from Gbagada to the Island. He deceived the UBER driver that he had a running stomach after which he jumped into the lagoon. 

“As I speak with you, the marine unit of the Lagos central zone has been searching for the victim since 11:30 am, but we have not found the body.”

Two luggage with his personal effects and affidavit were discovered on him.

A video has surfaced online showing some policemen arrested by their colleagues for obtaining bribe.

Also, the officers are attached to the Nigeria Police Special Squad ‘Operation Puff Adder’. So, they stormed the spot in patrol their patrol van and arrested the officers collecting bribe at the Ijesha area of Lagos State.
