The
spokesperson of the Distribution Company of Nigeria, Sunday Oduntan has
enjoined Nigerian to desist from calling them NEPA.
Oduntan who
was on TVC’s ‘Your View’ refute claims of a 78% increase in electricity tariff
as he said the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) is the body in
charge of regulating the power sector in Nigeria.
Also, he
disclosed that over 95% of what is consumed in Nigeria’s Power sector is not
produced in the country which is the need for the proposed hike in the
electricity tariff. He said that if the exchange rate is okay and stable and
there is a reduction in the importation of electricity, the tariff will be
reduced

Nigerians to stop calling them NEPA because it shows they don’t want change or
have not noticed any change, and does not want electricity.
