Alleged Fraudsters Deported

Not less than 17 internet fraudsters popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo” have been forcefully deported to Nigeria by Ghanaian Government

17 out of 29 persons arrested in Ho, the Volta Regional capital for their alleged involvement in cybercrimes, were deported by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS)

According to The Ghanaian Times, he said Nigerians were later handed over to the GIS for screening, following their arrest to ascertain their immigration status.

Meanwhile, the Ho Municipal Police Commander, DSP Anthony Danso, who informed the Ghanaian Times, on Tuesday, said it confirmed that the deported persons did not have decent immigration standing.

However, those who were found to be legal residents of Ho were immediately freed and reunited with their various communities.

Anthony also noted that some landlords rented houses to some Nigerians, who in turn used them for various despicable activities, including cyber fraud.

The police command, also revealed that they retrieved 33 laptop computers, two TV sets, one wireless router and 20 cell mobile phones including electronic gadgets during the raid
