The coordinator and chief
executive officer of the Enugu Clean Team Project, ECTP, Rev. Fr. Michael Ogbu,
says the organization has placed apparatus in motion to guarantee that
Enugu turns into the cleanest city in the country within the shortest conceivable
time.
Addressing journalists on the activities of the body, Fr. Ogbu, revealed that apart from the procurement of new equipment to cover Enugu, Nsukka, 9th Mile Corner, Awgu and Oji River Local Government, the recent employment of extra 1000 staff, in addition, would upgrade their operational limit.
According to him, ‘‘I trust the governor and the state executive council are inspired by our performance. And as a result, that’s the reason we were benevolently conceded solicitation to expand our staff strength with one thousand’’.
Describing the idea of the Enugu Clean Team Project as a great innovation and brainchild of the state governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Rev. Fr. Michael Ogbu, therefore re-affirmed his responsibility to meet the order given to him by the governor to make Enugu the cleanest city in Nigeria, a dream come true.
He, however, appealed to motorists to drive gently. Especially in the early hours of the day, to avoid hurting his workers who are on duty. On the other hand, the Enugu Clean Team Project facilitator also advised residents of Enugu and other parts of the state to stop littering the streets with refuse, pure water sachets, and other particles so as to make the streets look beautiful and drainage flowing freely.
A man, 22, jumped into the lagoon from the third mainland bridge yesterday. The man identified as Daibo Toju Davies resides at 17, Sosanya street, Gbagada.
A report said that he had engaged the services of an Uber taxi from a hospital before the occurrence. He allegedly stopped the Uber on the bridge pretending to be having a running stomach before plunging into the lagoon.

Emergency Management Agency public affairs officer, Nosa Okunbor said they are
making efforts to rescue the man.
He said;
“He should be
in his mid-twenties. He ordered a car-hailing service from Gbagada to the
Island. He deceived the UBER driver that he had a running stomach after which
he jumped into the lagoon.
“As I
speak with you, the marine unit of the Lagos central zone has been searching
for the victim since 11:30 am, but we have not found the body.”
Two luggage
with his personal effects and affidavit were discovered on him.
Police van has allegedly been used for commercial purposes in Lagos. This is due to the ban on commercial motorcycle and tricycle popularly known as Okada and Keke Napep in some parts of Lagos.

A video has surfaced online showing some policemen arrested by their colleagues for obtaining bribe.
Also, the officers are attached to the Nigeria Police Special Squad ‘Operation Puff Adder’. So, they stormed the spot in patrol their patrol van and arrested the officers collecting bribe at the Ijesha area of Lagos State.
