Another Fire Outbreak In Sokoto Market

A fire outbreak in Sokoto State Tuesday has destroyed about 2- shops.

The Head of Operations, Sokoto Fire Service, Mustapha Abubakar, confirmed the incident today and said that the inferno began around 11:00 pm on Monday and was on till about 2:00 am Tuesday.

Abubakar said the shops affected belong to the people who sell cosmetics and cloths. He also said that officials are on the ground for an on-the-spot assessment. Accurate reports would be released later.

Abubakar disclosed that firefighters made frantic efforts to put out the inferno throughout the night. He commended the traders union and other agencies for their support and prayed against re-occurrence.

Traders have been counting their losses and assisting victims on a temporary arrangement to resettle.
