Africa Records First Case Of Coronavirus In Ivory Coast

The authorities in Ivory Coast are investigating a suspected case of the Coronavirus in a female student who came in from China.

The ministry of health in the Ivory Coast announced that the female student who is yet to be identified is the first person to be tested for the Coronavirus in Africa.

The ministry of health and public hygiene in Ivory Coast said that the student, 34, traveled from Beijing to the Felix-Houphouet-Boigny International Airport in Abidjan on Saturday and was sneezing, coughing and experiencing difficulty with breathing.

The ministry, therefore, said that she has been moved to a safe location and under close medical observation.

Authorities said it might be a case of pneumonia and not the Coronavirus, the result will be made available after the analysis of the result.

Recall that the virus was first discovered in Wuhan, China and has killed about 56 with over 2700 infected.
