The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command on Friday 20, 2019 confirmed that one person sustained injuries and three persons died in an accident that involved a Bajaj motorcycle and a truck around the Toll-Gate area along Lagos Abeokuta Expressway.
The Sector Commander of FRSC, Ogun State, Clement Oladele said the accident happened at about 12.59 pm on Thursday. He explained further that truck with registration number, KRD 72 XY had failed brake and rammed into a Bajaj motorcycle, with registration number AKM039 UP, carrying two female passengers who were just dropping from the motorcycle.
Oladele said
two female adults and 3 male adults were involved in the accident, a passerby
died instantly while another female passenger died on getting to the General
Hospital, Ota.
He said the
corpse of the deceased have been deposited at the Ifo General Hospital, while
the only survivor was receiving treatment at the General Hospital, Ota.
So, he said a total sum of N72,930 which was recovered from the scene of the accident had been handed over to the victims’ families. He commiserated with the families of the deceased and asked God to grant them the fortitude to bear the loss.
However, he
advised motorists to drive safely by ensuring concentration and given
consideration to other road users, stating that some of the accidents were
avoidable and caused by not adhering to safety rules.

A man, 22, jumped into the lagoon from the third mainland bridge yesterday. The man identified as Daibo Toju Davies resides at 17, Sosanya street, Gbagada.
A report said that he had engaged the services of an Uber taxi from a hospital before the occurrence. He allegedly stopped the Uber on the bridge pretending to be having a running stomach before plunging into the lagoon.

Emergency Management Agency public affairs officer, Nosa Okunbor said they are
making efforts to rescue the man.
He said;
“He should be
in his mid-twenties. He ordered a car-hailing service from Gbagada to the
Island. He deceived the UBER driver that he had a running stomach after which
he jumped into the lagoon.
“As I
speak with you, the marine unit of the Lagos central zone has been searching
for the victim since 11:30 am, but we have not found the body.”
Two luggage
with his personal effects and affidavit were discovered on him.
