9 Travelers Killed And Others Abducted As Suspected Boko Haram Fighters Strike In Borno

Nine travelers have died and others abducted after Boko Haram fighters attacked the vehicle they were traveling in at the Maiduguri-Damaturu highway around Auno town, Konduga LGA of Borno State. This sad event happened around 9:50 pm on the 9th of February 2020.

A report has it that the Boko Haram members burnt about 17 vehicles and goods and goods worth millions were destroyed. An eyewitness said the victims were passengers who stopped by at Auno town as a result of the closure of the entrance into Maiduguri by 6 pm.

Another eyewitness said many women were abducted while many commercial vehicles were burnt with the goods in them.

“They made away with a Hummer bus, a Golf car and J5 bus loaded with women. They also looted houses and shops before setting them ablaze,”

The Nigerian Army is yet to issue an official statement on the recent attack
