Nigerian students schooling at the Ternopil State Medical University in Ukraine have arranged a protest after a 6th year Nigerian Medical student took her own life because she was allegedly frustrated by the school.

Badmus Ololade Rafiat, a final year medical student, had to commit suicide after she was expelled from her school for not passing the mock exam ahead of her final MBBS.

Reports revealed that the deceased made attempts to transfer to other schools to write the MBBS as other students do, but the school management allegedly frustrated her and did not provide her transcript needed for the process.

The school authorities allegedly gave her the option of returning to Nigeria to reapply for a student’s visa to begin the process over again.

After her pleas did not give any result and her dean refused to reconsider her, she wrote a suicide note and killed herself on Thursday 16th January

The school has mourned her by placing a notice on a wall in the school with her photo. They expressed their condolences to her family and friends and added that took her life because she was suicidal and depressed.

But the friends of the deceased have refuted the claims that she was suicidal and depressed as the school claims. They disclosed that she was frustrated at having to begin again after studying to 6th year in medical school.

However, they have blamed the school authorities and have planned a meeting to protest the unfair treatment that led to her committing suicide.

"Let us
meet in Centre @ 12 pm," the notice sent out by Nigerian students in the
school.
