A Swedish
woman, 30, has been charged for involuntary manslaughter after her newborn hit
its head and died as she gave birth unexpectedly in Rome.
Report
reveals that the woman claims that she didn’t know she was pregnant until she
went into labour.
The woman told the police authorities that she did not know she was expecting a baby as the baby was attached to the umbilical cord when it fell on the ground.
She said her
mother discovered the baby and wrapped her in a towel before reaching out to
the emergency services. The paramedics later arrived and discovered the two
women covered in blood.
The baby was taken into a hospital and died two days later. She was initially arrested for attempted murder but her charges were later changed and held under house arrest.
