Unidentified Gunmen Attacked Plateau Varsity Students, Raped One – SUG President

The students’ union President of Plateau State University, Mr. Ezekiel Lutei confirmed the raping of one of the institution’s female students by unknown assailants.

The miscreants had attacked the Plateau State University located in the Bokkos Local Government Area of the State.

The Union leader made this public on Tuesday while speaking with the Punch newspaper in Jos. He explained further that the gunmen also disposed of some students of their valuable belongings like cash, phones, and others.

“What happened was that there was a rehearsal for a play production by some 400-level and 200-level students of the Theatre Arts Department at the Open Air Theatre.

While the rehearsal was ongoing, the gunmen attacked around 10 PM on Monday, and in the process, a female student was raped while the others sustained varying degrees of injury

The SUG president said the raped student had been rushed to the hospital for medical attention, saying that the case had been reported to the school management.
