Ejike, 39, the suspected kidnapper of Kolawole Gold, has been remanded at the
Olokuta Correctional Centre after claiming he abducted the baby who went
missing at the Sotitobire Miracle Centre in Akure.
Ejike who
was brought before a Magistrate Court sitting in Akure on Monday 20th
January was arrested in Rivers State after a series of investigations.
So, the suspect reportedly threatened Bisola, wife of the founder of the Sotitobire church on 14th December 2019 at about 11:30 pm. He also requested for N800,000 as a settlement before allowing the boy to go. He had also threatened to kill little Gold If he doesn’t get the money.
However, Isaac Adubazi, counsel to the suspect, pleaded for admission of his bail in the most liberal term. The Chief Magistrate, Mayomi Olanipekun ordered that he be remanded at the correctional centre while awaiting legal counsel from the Director of Public Prosecution.
