Study Your Bible From Genesis To Revelation, There Is No Word Like Christmas – Olukoya, MFM General Overseer

Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of the Mountain Of Fire and Miracles Ministries has said that his church does take part in the Christmas celebration because it not biblical.

He made this revelation at the church’s Wednesday Manner Water Service at the Headquarters in Lagos, which coincided with the Christmas celebration. Olukoya says there is no book in the bible that recorded the word “Christmas” or that Jesus was given birth to on the 25th of December.

“If you study the Bible from
Genesis to Revelation, there is no word like “Christmas”. The bible only
recorded that the Shepherds were taking care of their flocks during a cold
season when they sighted the star that announced the birth of Jesus. This cold
period could be around April or May,’’ Olukoya said.

Olukoya said December 25 was a date set aside by the ancient Romans for the Mars festival for those who worship the Sun. he said Jesus’ birth was integrated into the same date to give make the Mars festival more popular and then changed the name to “Christmas”

He warned Christians to desist from promoting such an unbiblical celebration. He said the MFM church has decided to henceforth engage members in spiritual exercises during the periods to discourage members from taken part in such unscriptural festivity.
