After long
hours of deliberations amongst the US Lawmakers, Donald Trump has been
impeached as the United States President after a majority of the House members
voted on the articles of impeachment Wednesday night.
In what
looks like history, two articles of impeachment were passed against President
Donald Trump by the House of Representatives and the members voted primarily
along party lines to impeach the president, a move that will further increase
the tension in the country.
230 votes from the Democrats were in favour of Trump’s impeachment while 197 from the Republicans were against the impeachment.
Tulsi
Gabbard, a Democratic Rep and also a presidential candidate, refused to vote
but voted present.
While the
impeachment drama was going on, President Trump was in Michigan holding a fiery
rally with thousands of his supporters.
Donald Trump
has been accused by the Democrats for abuse of power and obstruction of
congress when he allegedly withdrew aid to Ukraine
Trump is now
the third sitting president of the United States Of America to be impeached and
he will now face the Senate, controlled by the Republicans in a trial.
