Sad! RCCG Pastor, Son, And Daughter Drowned In Spain

Gabriel Diya, 52, an RCCG Pastor, Comfort Diya, 9-year-old daughter, and Praise Emmanuel, 9-year-old son have drowned inside a swimming pool on Tuesday 24 December 2019 at the Costa Del Sol Resort in Southern Spain.

Gabriel Diya was until his death the pastor in charge of the Open Heavens of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Charlton, South-East London. The family had gone on vacation with wife and children, but unfortunately, his daughter Comfort fell into the pool while playing in one of the 21 swimming pools in the resort.

The RCCG pastor and his son jumped into the pool to try to rescue her but also struggled in the water. Despite efforts to resuscitate them, it all failed. They all died at the scene. Olubunmi, his wife, who was with them prayed fervently as CPR was carried out on her husband and children.

The post-mortem examination done on Christmas Day reveals they died by drowning. An investigation carried out to check the pool’s filtration and pump system shows that nothing was wrong with it, and it has since been reopened to the public.
