Official Of NSCDC Arrested For Allegedly Defiling A 7-Year-Old Girl In Zamfara State

An official of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Sani Yahaya has been arrested for allegedly defiling a 7-year-old girl in Zamfara.

It was gathered that Yahaya lured the minor with fruits into a vacant house around the Samaru area, Gusau where he works as a security guard. He was however arrested by his colleagues after a complaint was lodged about him by the girl’s family.

The father of the girl while recounting how the incident occurred said his daughter started crying bitterly in the house, attracting attention from passersby.

The father said;

“Our daughter was sent on an errand by her mother close to the house where Yahaya was posted to. 

“As she was passing along the road, he asked her to come into the house to collect fruits. That was how he got her and forcefully defiled her.”

Mr. Aminu Maru, NSCDC spokesperson in Zamfara State confirmed Yahaya’s arrest and further said an investigation is ongoing.

Aminu said;

“The corps member is still in our custody. The father of the girl reported the case at the command’s headquarters through the Intelligence and Investigation Department, complaining against one of our staff members, Sani Yahaya on alleged rape.

“While investigating the issue, the suspect said he did not have carnal knowledge of the girl, confirming, however, that he grabbed her into a room where he gave her two nuts of the umbrella tree.”

He further stated that the act is sad and an embarrassment to the NSCDC, he will be arraigned in court once it is confirmed that the girl was raped
