Nigerians Give Thumbs Up To Nike As New Jersey Inspired By ‘Agbada’ Is Unveiled

Sport branding giant, Nike, has designed another unique Super Eagles jersey for 2020. This was unveiled by Nike in New York on 5th Wednesday evening. The Super Eagles jersey has got numerous fans talking.

Senior Director, Global Communications for Nike, Heidi Burgett, took to Twitter to disclose that the home jersey was inspired by the traditional ‘agbada’ attire while the away jersey was inspired by Onaism.

He said further;

‘New 2020 kits for Nigeria: Home kit’s hand-drawn design fuses the traditional aesthetic of an agbada robe w/ modern football design. Away kit trim is inspired by Onaism. A broader collection of Super Eagles apparel includes a poncho, vest, dress, & more.’

Recall that when the previous jersey was unveiled in February 2018, it also got global attention as it won the best kit at the 2018 World Cup tournament in Russia.
