The Nigeria
Football Federation (NFF) is reportedly ready to commence a new contract
negotiation with Gernot Rohr. Recall that the Franco-German coach has just six
months before the expiration of his contract and could start talking to
interested employers.
Gernot
Rohr’s contract terminates in July 2020, but his results with the Nigeria
National Team have ensured both parties have no interest in quitting working
relationship yet.
A few of the
new clauses to be included in Rohr’s contract include; living in Nigeria to do
his job, and show more commitment to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Besides, he
will only be allowed three times for vacation in a year and his selection for
the team must be approved by the NFF technical board.
“The NFF is
ready to renew the contract of the Super Eagles coach but it certainly won’t be
a loose deal like the previous one,” an NFF top source hinted
"There
are certain conditions Coach Rohr must agree to if Nigeria must retain his
services. The NFF wants to ensure a better deal that will help the national
team as well as the football development in Nigeria.
"We are
set for negotiations next week but the NFF is not going to compromise on
certain conditions."
