The statue of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti has been pulled down. It was erected two years ago by Akinwunmi Ambode, former Lagos Governor.
Gboyega Akosile, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s spokesperson, confirmed that the stature has been pulled down.
He also said the roundabout housing the statue is one of the lists of four roundabouts identified by the government as the causes of traffic in Lagos.
Other roundabouts
that cause traffic in Lagos include, Ikotun, Lekki-Epe expressway, and
Maryland. The spokesperson also informed newsmen that the artwork will be moved
to another spot where it won’t cause traffic.
