The Supreme
Court today sacked David Lyon, APC governor-elect of Bayelsa State and
Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieoyo, his deputy.
Justice Mary
Peter-Odili who led five other justices annulled the elections on the fact that
Degi-Eremieoyo, the deputy governor-elect contested for the election with fake
certificates.
However, INEC has been directed to withdraw the certificate of return already issued to David Lyon and issue a fresh certificate to Douye Diri, PDP candidate who scored the second-highest number of votes.
This is
coming barely a month after the highest court sacked Emeka Ihedioha of the PDP
in Imo State and declared Hope Uzordinma of the APC winner.
