Nigeria’s
former President, Olusegun Obasanjo’s house was gutted by fire on Wednesday.
This happened at the late hours on Wednesday at his Ogun State residence.
The inferno
began around 9:30 pm in a part of the building situated at the Ita-Eko area of
Ogun State. The fire started as a result of a power surge, and the level of
destruction is yet to be ascertained as residents of the area assisted in
putting out the fire.
Fatai Adefala, Director of Ogun State Fire Service confirmed the incident and said the store in the building destroyed by the inferno. Also, Adefaja said the men of the fire service responded to a distress call around 10 pm and were able to put out the fire at Obasanjo’s house.
