Ighalo who made a historic move to Manchester United from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua a few days ago won’t be allowed to travel to Spain for United’s winter training camp.
Due to the
outbreak of the Coronavirus and United Kingdom’s strict border restrictions on
travelers who have traveled to China in the last 14 days, Ighalo will remain in
England as he won’t be allowed into the UK again if he leaves.
Ighalo will
remain in England on fitness and personal training program. The club has said
it is a precautionary measure as the situation continues to be monitored.
Ole Gunnar
Solskjaer spoke further;
“Odion will
stay in Manchester because he arrived from China in the last 14 days.
“Because of the situation in China, we’re not sure if he’d be allowed back into
England if he leaves the country again.
“So he’s
staying here working with a personal coach, individual program and his family
then can settle in England as well. That’s a plus.
“Of course he
might have liked to have come with the players and got to know them, but the
risk [of potential border restrictions tightening], we don’t want to take
that.”
The
Manchester United team will be without Paul Pogba, Lee Grant, and Marcus Rashford
due to injury. They are expected back in England on Friday 14th before their
game against Chelsea in Stamford Bridge on 17th February
