Governor Ganduje Prohibits Men And Women From Boarding Same Tricycle In Kano

Abdullahi Ganduje has on Wednesday 25 December 2019 placed a ban on men and women boarding the same tricycle in Kano State.

Haruna Ibn-Sina, the Commander-General of Hisbah Board who represented the Kano State Governor at the closing ceremony of 77th annual Islamic vacation course put together by zone A of Muslim Society of Nigeria held at the Bayero University, Kano, said the ban will take effect from January 2020.

It was revealed that the former governor of Kano, Ibrahim Shekarau had introduced tricycle popularly called as “A daidaita Sahu” as a means of easy transportation for women after placing a ban on motorcycles from conveying women.

So, after Shekarau left the government, the tricycles have been allowed to convey Kano residents of both sexes before the recent development.
