Coronavirus Is An International Health Emergency – WHO

The World Health Organization, WHO, has declared an international public health emergency on the deadly Coronavirus outbreak.

This disclosure came in on Thursday after meeting between Health experts and the World Health Organization emergency committee in Geneva.

WHO Director-General, Dr. Tedros Adhanom while speaking to newsmen said;

'The main
reason for this declaration is not because of what is happening in China, but
because of what is happening in other countries.
'Our
greatest concern is the potential for the virus to spread to countries with
weaker health systems, and which are ill-prepared to deal with it.'

Recall that WHO has said last week that it was too early to declare an international public health emergency, so, on Thursday it was disclosed the action was taken to allow countries to prepare for the possibilities of its further spread.

The Coronavirus has killed about 213 people in China, and with over 9,692 other people infected around the world.
