A female of
UNIZIK has tested positive for Lassa fever and therefore, recorded as the first
case in Anambra State.
So, this confirmation came after she was transferred from her school’s medical centre to the COOUTH
Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Ezebialu, acting CMAC of COOUTH disclosed that the student sample that was sent out to Edo State came back positive to Lassa fever.
He, however, said residents should not panic as necessary decontamination had been done. The Emergency Monitoring Team have been monitoring the health situations in Anambra State. However, the patient is now at the Virology Centre at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, Ebonyi
