5 State Governors Who Pay The N30,000.00 Minimum Wage To Their Workers

Implementing the N30,000 minimum wage approved by the Federal Government has been a nightmare to State Governors across the Nation.

A report from the Nigerian Labour Congress revealed that only 5 out of the 36 Governors have begun the implementation of the minimum wages which was signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari in April 2019.

The following are the lists of the Governors;

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri – Adamawa

Babajide Sanwo-Olu – Lagos

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai – Kaduna

Mohammed Badaru Abubakar – Jigawa

Abubakar Atiku Bagudu – Kebbi

Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri

The NLC had hinted that it will disrupt activities in the 31 other States by 31 December 2019 if they fail to conclude all negotiations on its implementations.

The communiqué was signed by Ayuba Wabba, NLC President, Emmanuel Ugboaja, the general secretary and Abdulrafiu Adeniji, the national chairperson joint national public service negotiating council (trade union).

It said that the organized labour would not guarantee industrial harmony in the 31 states that are yet to implement the minimum wage.

The communiqué read in part “Each state should as a matter of urgency convoke an emergency executive council meeting and state congress of all workers to intimate them on the outcome of the stakeholders’ meeting on the new national minimum wage.
