12 Rapists, 14 Gay Men, And About 200 Prostitutes Arrested In Jigawa

12 rapists and 14 suspected gay men were reportedly picked up by officials of the Jigawa Hisbah Board across the 27 Local Government centres of Jigawa State in 2019.

However, the state commandant of the board, Ibrahim Dahiru Garki, while speaking at the board’s headquarters in Dutse said the arrests were made between January – December 2019

Besides, 14 abandoned newborn babies were discovered in 2019. He also disclosed that over 200 prostitutes and 20 persons allegedly involving in fornication were also arrested by the Hisbah Police in 2019.

Therefore, the suspects have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for prosecution in the relevant court.
